The Busy Painter

By Allie

Mr. O’Donnell worked for an insurance company. He wanted to switch jobs. One day he went to the store to get paint. The store had a big sign saying, “We are hiring”. Once he got home he looked at their website. He got a job as a painter. He started his job on Sunday. His first day was very busy. He did not expect his first day to be so busy. He painted 22 houses, and finished just before midnight. He was very tired but got paid lots of money, and he liked painting way better than working for an insurance company. The next day he painted 35 houses. One of them he painted all black. He thought, ‘why would somebody want their whole house painted black?’ But he did not mention it to the customer because he thought it would be rude. Another house wanted their daughters room to be painted dark blue. Mr. O’Donnell told the blue customer about the all black house and said, “Blue sounds better than black if you ask me”. The next day he painted 44 houses. And he was happy with his job. He was the busy painter.
